How do I scan a product?

Open the Scan tab, allow camera access, and point your camera at the product barcode or label. You will get a plain-language result in a few seconds.

Is What2Know medical advice?

No. What2Know is an informational tool, not a medical device. Allergen results show what we detected in the text we could read -- not a guarantee a product is safe. Always check the physical label and consult a qualified professional for medical or dietary decisions.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by the app store. Manage or cancel in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings (Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; current access runs until the period ends.

How do I delete my account and data?

In the app, go to Settings then Delete account, which permanently removes your account, scans, and profiles. You can also email privacy@what2know.app.

A result looks wrong. What do I do?

Use the "report this result" control on any result screen, or email us. Reports help us improve, and you should always rely on the physical label over an app result.

How is my scan photo handled?

Your photo is sent to Anthropic (Claude) only to generate your result and is never used to train AI. Anthropic automatically deletes it (typically within 30 days). See our Privacy Policy.
